FAQ

Common questions

Everything you need to know about working with AKTC.

What makes AKTC different from a typical machine shop?

AKTC is a full-spectrum advanced manufacturing company — not a job shop. We combine the largest machining envelopes in the Kingdom with chrome plating, balancing, heat treatment, foundry, and overhaul capabilities under one roof. We manufacture mission-critical components that are usually imported.

What is your maximum machining capacity?

Our vertical turning lathes handle up to 5,000 mm swing diameter and 40 tonnes table load. Horizontal boring mills offer 8 meters of X-travel with 130 mm spindle diameter. Bridge cranes up to 40 tonnes enable single-piece handling across all facilities.

Can AKTC reverse-engineer obsolete parts?

Yes. Reverse engineering is a core competency. We use 3D laser scanning, CMM measurement, and metallurgical analysis to replicate and often improve legacy and discontinued parts — eliminating long OEM lead times and import dependency.

What certifications does AKTC hold?

ISO 9001:2015, ISO 1940 (balancing), AS9100 Rev D (aerospace), API Q1/Q2 (oil & gas), AWS D1.1 (structural welding), and ASME IX (pressure vessel welding).

Who are your major clients?

ARAMCO, SABIC, Ma'aden, Halliburton, Schlumberger, SANAD, and a continuously growing portfolio of industrial partners across energy, aerospace, marine, defense, mining, and petrochemical sectors.

How do I request a quote?

Submit your requirements through our Request Quote page with drawings, specifications, and quantities. Our engineering team reviews every inquiry and responds with a detailed technical and commercial proposal within 48 hours.

Does AKTC support Vision 2030 localization goals?

Localization is our founding purpose. Since 1970, AKTC has manufactured components that were previously imported, achieving 95% localization capability across our core service lines. We are a strategic partner in the Kingdom's industrial self-sufficiency agenda.

What industries do you serve?

Energy (oil, gas, power), aerospace, marine, defense, mining, and petrochemical. We serve any sector requiring large-envelope precision manufacturing, surface treatment, or equipment overhaul.
